RVS – Mesa A Project

Background

The RVS – Mesa A project, designed by Calibre and installed and commissioned by CIVMEC, required the manufacture and supply of high-performance HDPE pipes and custom fittings for a critical infrastructure development. The project involved producing DN800 SDR11 and SDR9, DN560 SDR7.4 COEX white pipes, CL300 backing rings, and custom scour tees. With an multimillion dollar project value and stringent timelines, the project exemplified the technical complexity and logistical challenges typical of large-scale resource infrastructure developments. Damos was selected as a trusted partner due to its technical expertise, manufacturing capacity, and proven track record in delivering innovative solutions.

The Details

Damos leveraged its advanced production facilities and technical capabilities to deliver on the project’s ambitious scope:

HDPE Pipe Production
  • Manufactured DN800 SDR11, SDR9, and DN560 SDR7.4 COEX white pipes.
  • Utilised four production lines across two manufacturing plants to meet the accelerated production schedule.
  • Developed Australia’s first tri extruded HDPE pipe, combining black, white, and coloured stripe layers for enhanced performance and visibility.
Custom Fittings
  • Produced CL300 backing rings and bespoke scour tees tailored to the project’s specific requirements.
  • Ensured fittings met stringent operational and environmental standards.
Collaborative Joint Venture
  • Established a joint venture with Aboriginal contractor TOTEM, combining expertise to deliver the project and support local community engagement.
Quality Assurance and Testing
  • All pipes and fittings underwent rigorous quality testing, including hydrostatic and tensile strength tests, to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 4130,  and AS/NZS4129 standards and project specifications.
Logistics Coordination
  • Damos coordinated simultaneous production across two facilities, streamlining logistics to ensure seamless delivery to the remote project site within the required timeframe.
